Hanging at Pine Ridge

First day in Belize!

Hello parents!

We heard from the students on the Ensworth trip. They are having a great time!! The morning started with the girls making tortillas at Mountain Pine Ridge. The group visited Big Rock Falls today and did a hike. One of the highlights of the hike was finding jaguar tracks! The group stopped at Five Sisters (a lodge) to enjoy some afternoon milkshakes. This evening they will start a discussion on climate change and start learning about the Mayan culture! They have videos that they are hoping to post on the blog tomorrow when they arrive at Monkey Bay.

Day One

Today, we got to the airport in Nashville after the parents left. We had some breakfast (frostys). Then we hopped on a plane to Houston. When we got there we drank some jamba juice. Finally we had our last plane ride to Belize.

We drove for about 3 and a half hours (one was EXTREMLY bumpy), and then arrived at the pine ridge cabin. All of us set up our cabins with our mosquito nets and water bottles.

We had home made Belize tacos made by our wonderful cook Radiance. She made us home made hard taco shells, spicy chicken, refried beans, and all sorts of toppings. Also at the end of the meal we found out that she had made us a chocolate cake and it was covered with FUNFETTI.

Then we just talked and went to bed. We fell asleep to rain on our tin roofs.

Bye for now xoxo Sarah and jad

Group Arrive

Hello Parents,
I just heard from our instructor Chris Lindstrom, who called to say the Ensworth students and faculty have arrived with all their luggage. They are now on the bus and on their way to the cabin at Mountain Pine Ridge, where they will arrive in another two hours. Students are eating plantain chips and local juices and getting used to their surroundings. Tomorrow they will go on a hike through tropical forests to a water fall as part of their orientation. We'll be updating the blog every few nights, so please check back for more details on the group. Please do not hesitate to call us on (303) 679-3412 if you have any questions,
